この定義が、一般人とGEEKで違うのですよ。

一般人の場合
機械を使う
→PCの内部を意識せず、目的の業務なり文書を仕上げること。
機械に使われる
→コマンド、URL等、自然言語にない意味不明な呪文を覚えされられること。
　本来の目的と無関係な、環境構築や設定に労力を食われること。

GEEKの場合
機械を使う
→環境を自分にとって快適になるように
　自分のコントロール下に置くこと。

機械に使われる
→カスタマイズできない、ハックできない
　ベンダー(または自社)お仕着せの環境を使わされること。

数日前のストーリーにあった、フリーソフトのユーザビリティが改善しないと言われているのも
この辺のすれ違いからじゃないかと。
